Colour Plates, First Edition, Illustrated, Pleasing Copy, Publishers' Original Binding

The main prose element of this work was written by P. G. Wodehouse, with sixteen beautiful colour plates by the renowned British illustrator Philip Dadd (who was the nephew of both the artist Richard Dadd, and the prolific illustrator Kate Greenaway). These illustrations were also accompanied by verses written by John W. Houghton. A first edition first issue copy, with the publisher's device printed in red to the title page without the publisher's address. Collated complete with sixteen plates, each with a captioned tissue guard. With author's advertisements to the rear of the work, advertising the following four works: 'The Gold Bat', 'The Pothunters', 'A Prefect's Uncle', and 'Tales of St. Austin's'. This copy is lacking the original dustwrapper, as usual.
