What Our Customers Say...
First Edition, Limited Edition, Pleasing Copy, Uncommon, With Dustwrapper
Best known for his 1931 novel 'Saturday Night at the Greyhound' (an unexpected success for the Hogarth Press) John Hogarth was a well respected author and member of the Birmingham Group of working class authors, who produced numerous short stories that were published in prestigious literary magazines throughout the 1930s. Hampson was of notable appearance, and invariably dressed all in brown and wrote in brown ink; as demonstrated through his signature to the limited edition colophon at the rear of this work. This work contains the following two short stories: 'The Mare's Nest' 'The Long Shadow'. This copy is numbered 102 of two hundred and fifty signed copies, and signed by Hogarth. This work was hand printed by Horbert Jones at The Blue Moon Press in October 1931- as detailed to the verso of the limited edition colophon. Complete with the original unclipped dustwrapper.
