First edition of this satirical work. Illustrated throughout by Ronald Searle. The flyleaf notes that this work is 'the most devastating travel book since these keen-eyed investigators gave us U.S.A for Beginners.' Ronald Searle was a British artist and satirical cartoon artist. He created the famous St Trinian's School and collaborated with Geoffrey Willans on the Molesworth series. Searle received many critical recognition for his work especially in America. He won the National Cartoonists Society's Advertising and Illustration Award in 1959 and 1965, The Reuben Award in 1960 and many more.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with minor bumping to the extremities and to the head and tail of spine. Dustwrapper is smart with a few chips to the head and tail of spine as well as to the extremities. Closed tear to the head of rear wrap. Spine is sunned. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
