Illustrated, Rebound

An interesting travel work, looking at the author's experiences travelling in Greece, Turkey, Syria, Palestine, and Egypt, written at a time where interest in the East was rising in England. With a frontispiece, and thirteen woodcuts. Written by Eliot Warburton, an Irish traveller. The travels documented in this work were undertaken in 1843. Prize label to the front pastedown, presented to Joshua H. Gladstone, signed by Alfred Wrigley in July 1879. Undated, dated from Copac from a copy held at Exeter University. Collated, complete.

Condition

Rebound in a calf binding. Externally, smart. Light rubbing to the spine, and a little fading. Some light loss to the rear board. Prize label to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with just a couple of light spots.
