The first edition of this work. In the scarce original unclipped dustwrapper. An interesting travel work on Iran, delving into the prominent cities of the country and examining their histories and cultures. Illustrated with thirty-two plates. Collated, complete. Written by Laurence Lockhart, who also wrote 'Nadir Shah'. With a foreword by Lord Cadman of Silverdale.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. A small amount of bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Dustwrapper is edge-worn with some small closed chips. Light marks and discolouration to the dustwrapper. Blue mark to the rear wrap of the dustwrapper, and a tape repair to the tail of the dustwrapper. Small tidemark to the spine of the dustwrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the odd spot, mostly to the first and last few pages.
