Description

An Important Work, Illustrated

Illustrated throughout, with fifteen engraved plates, some folding. Collated from binder's instructions, complete. The second edition of this text. A very scarce work in any edition with only two on Copac, one held at the British library and the other by Historical Texts. Maria Graham wrote many children's books and travel works. She was also an accomplished illustrator. This was Graham's first book.

Condition

In paper covered boards. Externally, excellent with minor shelfwear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are mildly cockled due to damp staining. Some minor tidemarks throughout, not affecting text. Prior owner's ink spill to pages 71-76, only light and therefore text is still readable. Pages are slightly age toned with instances of light scattered spots throughout.

Overall: Very Good Indeed
