First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Uncommon

Prior owner's inscription to the title page, W P Jillard. Illustrated, with a frontispiece and two plates. Collated, complete. Bookseller's label, Pocock Bath to the front pastedown. Louisa Stuart Costello was an Anglo-Irish writer. She was associated with other great authors of the time such as Sir Walter Scott, Charles Dickens and Thomas Moore. A smart first edition copy of this work. It is a scarce title in any edition.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart, with minor bumping to the extremities and to the head and tail of spine. Fading to the spine and extremities. Small loss to the cloth at the joints and to the head and tail of spine. Inscription to the title page. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. Occasional scattered spots to pages.
