    The first edition of this work. This is an in-depth study into New Zealand, looking into the prominent cities in the county, such as Wellington and Nelson. The author also discusses the early history of New Zealand, the features of the country, and the climate and scenery of New Zealand. With a folding map to the frontispiece. Written by Edward Brown Fitton, a landowner and resident in New Zealand. Bound without endpapers. Publisher's adverts to the front pastedown pastedown, and two pages of the rear. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown.

    Condition

    In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light discolouration and marking to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Very small crack to the head of the front joint. Evidence of a label being formerly adhered to the rear board. Hinges are starting but firm. Bound without endpapers. Prior owner's mathematical pencil annotation to the rear pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with some spots and marks. Frontispiece is detaching a little from the gutter to the tail. The occasional pencil mark to the margins.
