Sven Hedin was a geographer, topographer and explorer. He went on four expeditions to Central Asia and made the Trans Himalaya known to the West through his publications. He was also responsible for locating the sources of Brahmaputra, Indus and Sutlej Rivers.

An important work that popularised Trans Himalaya to the west.
