The first edition of this work. A very scarce work. An interesting travel work discussing the lives of women in various parts of the Orient, looking at a woman's childhood marriage, weddings, attire, occupations, and more. Illustrated with a frontispiece, and thirteen plates. Written by Jacob Baba Yohannan.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with some marks to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities, resulting in a small amount of lifting to the head and tail of the spine. Hinges are reinforced. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean. Contents page is lifting and may detach. Institutional stamp to the reverse of the title page and to the tail of the contents page. Title page is a little edgeworn.
