    A very scarce work.

    An insightful look into Mendiland, home of the Mende tribe in the southwesy of Sierre Leone on the west coast of Africa.

    Illustrated with a frontispiece, and nine plates.

    Collated, complete.

    Written by William Vivian.

    Presentation inscription to the recto to the front endpaper, 'Presented to Miss Laura Darley, ... ... Methodist Missionary Society 1927, R. H. Osborne, Minister'.

    Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the British Library.

    Condition

    In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. A little fading to the spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Some minor marks to the boards and spine, heavier to the rear board. Presentation ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
