Translated into English by Bishop Colenso of Natal. With a portrait frontispiece of him. Colenso has added a preface and notes to this work, which he has translated from the original Dutch. 

This work sheds light on the character and conduct of the Zulu king from an objective position. 

With publisher's adverts to the rear.

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart with rubbing to the spine and extremities. Subscription library bookplate to the front pastedown, W.H.Smith and Sons. Internally, generally firmly bound though strained in places. Pages are generally bright with occasional scattered spots to pages.
