What Our Customers Say...

Second impression, published the same year as the first.

This work was originally published within the second edition of James Edward Austen Leigh's 'Memoir of Jane Austen'. 'The Watson's' was unfinished at this time. This work was then published in this particular form, on its own, for the first time in 1923.

Austen's 'The Watsons' is an unfinished novel which she begun around 1803, whilst living in Bath, abandoning the project after her father's death in January 1805. The 7,500 word work was not formally divided into chapters. Though unfinished the work is considered to be very promising.

The work was subsequently finished in 1928 by Edith Charlotte Brown.

With a bookplate of H. M. Leach to the front paste down.

With a photograph of Jane Austen's house at Chawton, to the verso of the half title page.
