They were the most widely read works of their time and remained as popular for nearly a century. Sir Walter Scott was a Scottish historical novelist, playwright and poet. He was one of the first to have contemporary readers in Europe, Australia and North America.
In a half calf binding with marbled boards. Externally very smart with slight rubbing to the extremities and boards. Bookplate to front pastedowns of one 'Thomas Gilbert'. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with scattered spotting and marginal age toning, due to paper used.
