'The Seven Seas' is a collection of poetry.

A prominent theme of the poems if the range of the British Empire and the Royal Navy. The poems also seem to have a fascination with contemporary developments in technology.

The poems include 'A Song of the English', 'The Deep-Sea Cables', 'Hymn Before Action', 'In the Neolithic Age', 'The Mary Gloster', 'Back to the Army Again', and many more.

Rudyard Kipling is best known for his novel 'The Jungle Book', however he was a prolific writer of poems, novels, and short stories. Being born in India inspired much of his work, and he went on to become one of the most popular writers of his time. Kipling became the Lord Rector of St Andrews University in 1922.

With thirty-nine pages of publisher's adverts to the rear.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Fading to the spine. Some light marks to the boards. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The odd spot to the fore edge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Some pages uncut to the fore edge.
