Presenting the first three volumes of Winston S. Churchill's renowned work on the Second World War, all in the first editions published between 1948 and 1950. 

Comprising of: 

Volume I, The Gathering Storm, covers the period of 1919 to 1940. It includes eighteen illustrated maps and diagrams, collated and complete. 

Volume II, Their Finest Hour, which recounts the key events and battles from May to December 1940. It includes twenty-one illustrated maps and diagrams, collated and complete. 

Volume III, The Grand Alliance, covers the period of Germany driving east and the beginning of America's involvement in the war. It includes twenty-seven illustrated maps and diagrams, collated and complete. 

Winston Churchill won the Novel Prize for Literature in 1953 for this extensive and awe-inspiring work. 

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with minor shelf wear, more so to Volume I. Internally, binding generally firm to all volumes. Some spots to the fore-edge to Volume II, not affecting the pages, which are bright and clean in all volumes.
