Uncommon. The sixth edition, greatly enlarged and improved. Written by Arthur Young, the secretary to the board of agriculture and noted writer on agriculture and economics, this work offers a guide to the business of farming in the early 19th century. Structured on a month by month basis this work gives an overview of the tasks that need to be undertaken on the farm throughout the year. Illustrated with 2 plates to the front of the volume titled 'Irrigation'. This handsome copy is bound in a full calf binding, with a modern dedication tipped-in to the front blank dated November 2010.

Condition

In a full calf binding. Externally sound with heavy rubbing to the head and tail of the spine and also to the extremities. Large crack to the front joint, with a small crack to the head of the rear joint. Front hinge is strained but firm. Patches of loss to the head of the spine. Light offsetting to the front and rear pastedown and endpapers. Internally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean.
