Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

A popular sporting world, discussing the author's experiences fishing in the River Tweed. The River Tweed goes across the border of England and Scotland. Illustrated with a frontispice, vignette to the title page, eleven plates, and numerous in-text illustrations. Written by William Scrope, who was well known for his sport writings, including 'The Art of Deerstalking'. Illustrated by Sir David Wilkie, Sir Edwin Landseer, Charles Landseer, William Samson, and Edward Cooke. With ten pages of publisher's adverts to the rear.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Front hinge is strained but remains firm. Rear hinge is starting but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the odd spot.
