With the armorial bookplate of David M. Ritchie to the front pastedown. Lord William Pitt Lennox, 1799-1881, was an army officer and writer. "In addition to his personal recollections and several undistinguished novels, he contributed to the Sporting Review, Diadem, the Book of Beauty, Once a Week, the Illustrated London News, Land & Water, and the Court Journal. He was described by the Saturday Review as ‘a pleasant, amusing good-natured gossip’" -DNB.

Condition

In a half calf Hatchards binding. Externally, just a few rubs. Internally, firmly bound, with slight light browning and the occasional spot.
