Containing a fascinating study of the characteristics and natural habitats of alpine plants (with a whole chapter dedicated to an in-depth study of each of the 'most important' Rock Plants), and fascinating instructional sections on how to incorporate them into rockeries. In the publisher's original pictorial coloured cloth binding, depicting a charming alpine mountain scene to the front board and flowers to the spine. Collated, complete with sixteen black and white plates, and thirty four tipped-in coloured plates depicting forty four different flowers. The beautiful colour plates in this work are from nature studies by 'Nenke and Ostermaier' of Dresden, Germany.
Condition
In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally lovely, with only minor shelfwear to extremities and head and tail of spine and very slight fading to spine, as expected with this colour binding. Very slight offsetting to endpapers. Internally firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean throughout. Slight offsetting to extremity of plates, not affecting images.
