    The work is incredibly detailed and educational, instructing the reader in a concise but easy to follow manner.

    This was a unique and immensely popular work when published, being the first of its type written and published in English.

    Hoare discusses the soil and manure to be used, as well as the construction of the walls and the propagation, pruning, and training of the vines.

    Written by Clement Hoare, who owned and operated a vineyard near Chichester and later Southampton.

    Rebound in a cloth binding. Externally, smart. A few minor marks to the boards and spine. Evidence of a label being formerly adhered to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with a few light spots. Institutional stamp to the reverse of the title page.
