The third edition of this work. 'The Library of Agricultural and Horticultural Knowledge' is an extensive reference work referring to numerous and widely varied aspects of agriculture and horticulture, the perfect guide for any farmer of gardner. It was an immensely popular work was it was first published. Various authors contributed articles to the work, John Ellman being one of them. With a frontispiece showing a portrait of John Ellman, ten hand-coloured in-text illustrations, and numerous monochrome in-text illustrations. Ellman was a stock breeder and famer, who developed the Southdown breed of sheep. He was also a writer on a broad range of agricultural subjects. With a memoir of John Ellman.

Condition

In a quarter crushed morocco binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Some loss to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Small crack to the head of the front joint. Minor marks to the boards. A little bumping to the extremities. Hinges are starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd scattered spot. A few pages have small closed tears to the extremities.
