The first edition of this work. In the original unclipped dustwrapper, and the original slipcase. Slipcase is in a very good condition. A collection of beautiful cricket prints from the mid eighteenth century up to 1864. Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece, and sixty-four plates, forty-eight of which are in colour, and sixteen are monochrome. Collated, complete. Written by Neville Cardus and John Arlott. Cardus was the cricket correspondent for 'The Manchester Guardian'. Arlott was the cricket commentator for the BBC's 'Test Match Special'.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper and the original slipcase. Externally, smart. Dustwrapper with some edge wear, resulting in a couple of small closed tears to the head of the spine. Some loss of paper to the spine. Slipcase is discoloured with some spots and some marks. Slipcase is in a very good condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
