Professional repairs to the title page, A2, A3, and plates 38-43.

This work is written by Charles Carter, the cook to the Duke of Argyle, the Earl of Pontefract, the Lord Cornwallis and many more figures of note. This work gives instructions on fish stock, gravy, Spanish Olio, Sorrel Soup, Veal Soup, Mutton, Beef, pickling, and several other key dishes from the start of the eighteenth century.

A beautifully rebound copy of this fascinating work, which gives insight into cookery at the start of the eighteenth century.

Condition

In a half calf binding, with cloth covered boards. Externally, in an excellent condition with minor shelfwear. Internally, firmly bound. Professional repairs to the title page, A2, A3, and plates 38-43 at the edges. Most of the title page and plate 43 is lacking. Pages are generally bright with just the occasional light spots.
