This work offers a history of the trade from the "earliest times to the twentieth century", with sections on Oxford and Cambridge stationers, pirates and individual publishers such as Archibald Constable. Collated, complete with numerous monochromatic plates. With a bibliography by W. H. Peet.

Condition

In cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally, minor wear to extremities and joints, with some rubbing. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean throughout, with the odd spot and handling mark.
