Then the property of the 3rd Baronet, Sir Wilfrid Lawson (1862 - 1937). They were sold in 1907 and 1908. The 10th Baronet was a patron of the fine arts, with his collection containing work from such seminal English figures as Sir Joshua Reynolds, George Morland, Thomas Gainsborough and John Hopnner. The collection also included work from the continent. Contains a frontispiece of Sir Wilfrid Lawson, 10th Baronet.
In a brown buckram binding with original leather spine label. Externally sound. Some light wear to extremities, as well as wear to head and tail of spine. Loss to spine label. Internally generally firmly bound but strained in places. Pages are bright and generally clean pages with just some spots to first and last few pages. Contemporary pencil markings throughout . Page 7/8 of the second catalogue has some loss affecting text.
