Description

Very Scarce

Described as "a few notes on indexes and indexers", the work provides valuable insight into Victorian book collecting and cataloguing Henry B. Wheatley was a British author, editor, and indexer mostly known for his 'London Past and Present: Its History, Associations, and Traditions' (1891), a topographical and historical dictionary of London streets and landmarks, named to this day as the standard dictionary of London". In an attractive decorative binding, with a black stamped border and gilt stamped embellishment to the front board.

Condition

In cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally quite smart, there are markings to the boards, as well as wear to the joints, with some strain to the hinges. Internally, the pages are firmly bound and are bright and clean throughout.
