The 1948 edition is edited by W. E. Lyon. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, and eighty monochrome plates. Collated, complete. Thirty-two pages of publisher's adverts throughout the text.
The 1962 edition is edited by Dorian Williams. In the original unclipped dustwrapper. Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece, and sixty-four monochrome plates. Collated, complete. Thirty-two pages of publisher's adverts throughout the text.
In the original publisher's cloth binding, the 1948 edition in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A few minor marks to the boards and spines. Dustwrapper with some minor edgewear, with a few small closed tears. Light spots to the reverse of the dustwrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Prior owner's ink inscription to the title page of the 1948 edition.
