Revised edition. First published in the US in 1920. Very scarce. With a prize bookplate of Yeovil Technical Institute to front pastedown. Part of 'The Specialists' Series'. Contains seven full page monochrome plates and thirty six tables, six of which are folding. Lacking frontispiece. The work is a fascinating guide to the structural design of planes, profusely illustrated with many folding diagrams and monochrome plates. It is aimed towards designers, draughtsmen and students of aerospace engineering and offers a comprehensive guide to the subject, with reference to wing loading, inertia, fuselage and general maintenance.

Condition

In the original blue cloth binding with gilt detail. Externally smart with slight bumping to the extremities and the head and tail of the spine. Slight rubbing to the joints. The odd mark to the boards. Prize bookplate to front pastedown. Front hinge slightly strained but firm. Internally generally firmly bound. Page generally bright and clean with just the odd spot and marginal age toning. Large closed tear to folding plate facing page 146. Lacking frontispiece.
