Description
Illustrated, Leather Binding
Originally written in 1883 in 4 volumes. Volume II only (which includes two volumes bound in one), whilst volume I is missing. With coloured plates throughout illustrated by A. Thorburn and others, including Eliza Turck (1832 - 1891), an English artist.
Condition
In a quarter-calf binding with red cloth boards and gilt lettering to spine. Externally generally smart, lightly rubbed in places with evidence of damp staining. Internally binding is tender. Pages generally bright and clean throughout, save for light, scattered spotting. Amateur repairs made to pages 98-99 with tape.
