What Our Customers Say...

Description

Early Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

The fourth edition of this work, which has been revised and expanded by the English naturalist, William Bernhardt Tegetmeieir. He was a founding member of the Savage Club and a close friend of Charles Darwin. A prior owner has written extensively in the margins as to what additions have been made for this fourth edition. Tegetmeier was a member of the British Ornithologists' Union and edited 'The Field' magazine, proving he has the credentials to tackle this edition of such an important work.

Illustrated, with twenty plates to volume I and forty coloured plates to volume II.

Collated, complete.

A beautifully illustrated work, providing an insight into British ornithology.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light bumping to the head and tail of spine as well as to the extremities. A few light marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Prior owner's inscriptions to the margins regarding the additions to this edition. Just the odd spot to pages.
