The first edition of this work. 

Illustrated, with a frontispiece and seven plates.

A scare publication by the English druggist and chemist turned author and anthologist, Henry Gardiner Adams. Adams wrote juvenile literature under the pseudonym 'Nemo'. 

This work contains sections on many songbirds including The Nightingale, The Whitethroat, the Wren, The Redbreast, Titlark, Blue Tit and Canary.

Condition

In a half calf binding, with paper covered boards. Externally, very smart. Patches of light rubbing to the front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
