Very scarce. Fourth edition, revised. This particular copy in bound in a half calf binding, with marbled paper covered board. Written in the original German. This interesting work discusses balneotherapy, the treatment of illnesses and disease through the process of bathing in mineral springs. The work also explores the concept of climatotherapy, the movement of a patient to area in which the climate is believed to aid their medical recovery. A fascinating insight into this practise in mainland Europe in the late 19th century.
Condition
In a half calf binding with marbled paper covered boards. Externally generally smart, with rubbing to the head and tail of the spine, joints and extremities. Very small tide mark to the head of the backstrip. Ink inscription to the front pastedown, with very light offsetting to the extremities of the front and rear endpapers. The front and rear hinges are lightly strained but firm. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
