What Our Customers Say...

Description

Early Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Uncommon

With particular emphasis given to the influence of occupations, lifestyle, and habituation on health in England and Wales, in addition to a comprehensive study of railway accidents and progress of crime. In writing this work, Neison obtained returns from several thousand societies and compiled this extensive research work for four years. His paper on the subject was first read before the Statistical Society on the 17th of March 1845, and the paper was lauded as the most valuable contribution to the laws of sickness and morality that had hitherto appeared. A fascinating mid-nineteenth century work on statistics in relation to health and morality. A third edition copy. Whilst the binding of this copy is loosening and failed in places, it is collated complete.
