Second edition. This particular copy has been rebacked with the original backstrip preserved and new endpapers. With the previous owners ink inscription to the head of the front pastedown. A very scarce work of pharmaceutical writing from the mid-19th century in which the author R. Eglesfeld Griffith discusses the measuring and the administration of medicine taking into consideration the lifestyle and age of the patient. In addition Griffith offers observations in relation to the management of the 'sick room' and proper medical practises. This work offers a delightful insight into medicine in the 19th century.
Condition
Rebacked, with original cloth backstrip preserved and new endpapers. Externally smart, with light bumping to the extremities. Small ink spots to the front and rear boards. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright with light spots.
