Bouchardat is best remembered as the founder of diabetology, and for the contributions he made to dietetic therapy, long before the use of insulin. Written by: A. Bouchardat; D. P. Boffil (translator) ; D. J. Marti (translator); Antonio Blanco y Fernandez This set contains the following works: 'Elementos de Quimica: Aplicada a las Artes, a la Industria y a la Medicina', volume I, translated by D. P. Boffil and D. J. Marti. 'Curso de Ciencias FiIsicas: Para el Uso de los Alumnos de Filosofia', volume II, translated by Antonio Blanco y Fernandez. 'Elementos de Quimica' is complete with the folding table facing page 12 and numerous in-text illustrations. Both volumes are in Spanish. These two volumes have been rebound in a uniform quarter crushed morocco binding with marbled paper boards. Both volumes feature the gilt title 'Elementos de Quimica' and a volume number to the spine, despite the second volume being a different work with a different translator and publisher.

Condition

Rebound in a uniform quarter crushed morocco binding with marbled paper boards. Externally generally smart, with slight bumping to extremities and slight rubbing to spine. Rubbing to boards. Hinges slightly strained. Evidence of second free-endpaper to gutter 'Elementos de Quimica', now removed. Internally firmly bound. Pages slightly age toned but bright and clean with the odd scattered spot, heavier to the first and last few pages. Small closed tears and small tidemarks to folding plate 'Elementos de Quimica'. Prior owner's ink inscription to half title page 'Curso de Ciencias FiIsicas'. The odd small ink inscription to first and last few pages.
