    The second edition of this work. Complete in two volumes. A collection of sixteen educational essays discussing varying aspects of chemistry. The essays discuss the importance of chemistry, temperature, gravity, carbon, citric acid, sulphuric acid, bleaching, water, glass, sal-ammoniac, and much more. Volume I with a frontispiece, two folding plates, and ten plates. Volume II with a frontispiece, and ten plates. Written by Samuel Parkes, who was a chemist, now best known for his work 'Chemical Catechism'. Collated, complete.

    Condition

    Rebound in a quarter calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, smart. Light discolouration and marks to the spines. Booksellers' label to the recto to the front endpaper of Volume I. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with the odd spot.
