In two volumes. Written in the original German. An important encyclopedia giving the particulars about the scientific work of about twelve thousand scientists, ranging from astronomers, mathematicians, chemists, physicians, geologist, and technologist, from the earliest times to the middle of the nineteenth century. Written by Johann Christian Poggendorff. Poggendorff was a German physicist, who is well known for his work in electricity and magnetism, and for his electrostatic motor.

Condition

Rebound in a half cloth binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, smart. Light rubbing to the extremities. Some discolouration to the spines. Minor bumping to the extremities. Internally, Volume I is generally firmly bound, whereas Volume II is firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the odd spot.
