Complete in two volumes. A lovely example of this important scientific bibliographical work. As stating in the blurb this work is considered to be 'the most important bibliography ever compiled in the field'. Written and compiled by John Ferguson, a chemist of the 19th and early 20th century, this being his seminal work. Ferguson was an important early alchemist who was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 1888. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with volume I held in the original dustwrapper. Volume II is lacking the original dustwrapper.

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with volume I held in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally smart, with minor shelfwear. Dustwrapper is smart, with light shelfwear to the extremities. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
