    Description

    First Edition, Illustrated, Leather Binding

    The first edition of this work.

    A collection of essays on natural history, focusing purely on ornithology.

    Illustrated with a frontispiece.

    Written by Charles Waterton.

    Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Bookplate of Brian Spiller to the verso to the front endpaper.

    Condition

    In a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Light rubbing to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Hinges are starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with just a couple of light handling marks.
