This work is a collection of letters written by the author to various other naturalists. He discusses the history of Selborne, a village in East Hampshire.

'The Natural History of Selborne' was well received by critics and readers, with fans being the likes of Virginia Woolf, John Ruskin, Charles Darwin, and Samuel Taylor Coleridge.

Illustrated with a frontispiece, and numerous in-text illustrations.

Written by Gilbert White, a naturalist and ornithologist. He is best known for this work, which was being continuously in print since its first publication. He was also a pioneering birdwatcher.

A new edition with notes by Edward Blyth.

Condition

In a full straight grain morocco binding. Externally, generally smart. Minor rubbing and marks to the boards and spine. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Small crack to the spine label. Front hinge is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with the odd spot.
