The author's name has been written in pencil to the title page, 'James Rennie'. James Rennie was a Scottish naturalist. He wrote on many topics including Insects and Botany.
Charmingly illustrated with many vignettes throughout.
Prize Bookplate to the front pastedown from the Blairlodge Academy, dated 1834 and addressed to one Master N G McCrae.
A generally smart copy of this study.
Condition
In a full calf binding. Externally, very smart. Light marks to the boards and light rubbing to the joints. Small split to the head and tail of front joint. Bookplate to the front pastedown, dated 1834. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, with spotting to the endpapers. Otherwise, just the odd spot.
