'Just William' was a series of thirty-eight books, published between 1922 and 1970, written by English author Richmal Crompton, best known for this particular series. While William remains eleven years old throughout, the environment and era differs.
In these tales, William Brown uses his confidence and his independent mind to take on any projects and games which came his way. With the occasional misunderstanding, everything always tends to work out in the end, adhering to William's motto, "Doin' good, rightin' wrongs, spreadin' happiness and walking down the narrow path of virtue".
In this particular collection, there are ten stories; William and the Early Romans, William and the Fairy Daffodil, William and the Chinese God, All the News, William's Mammoth Circus, The Magic Monkey, William Among the Poets, William at the Garden Party, William Joins the Waits, and William to the Rescue.
With charming illustrations throughout by English illustrator, Thomas Henry, who is best remembered for his illustrations in this series.
