In two volumes. In a signed binding by Bemrose Derby. A return to two orders of the House of Commons, dated 4th May 1876, and the 9th March 1877. Documenting the people sitting in the House of Commons, noting their constituency. Order of 4th May 1876, 'of the names of every member returned to serve in each parliament from the year 1696 up to the present time, specifying the names of the county, city, university, borough, or place for which returned'. Order of 9th March 1877, 'that there be added to the return relative to members of parliament, ordered by this house on the 4th day of May 1876, a return, from so remote a period as it can be obtained up to the year 1696, of the surnames, Christian names, and titles of all members of the lower House of Parliament of England, Scotland, and Ireland, with the name of the constituency represented, and date of return of each'. Part I contains England from 1213 to 1702. Part II contains Great Britain, 1705 to 1796, United Kingdom, 1801 - 1874, Scotland, 1357 - 1707, and Ireland, 1559 to 1800. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedowns.

Condition

In a half calf signed binding by Bemrose Derby, with cloth to the boards. Externally, smart. A little rubbing to the spines. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedowns. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd scattered spot.
