First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce
A very scarce copy, with two copies only held at the British Library and Durham University (Copac). A first edition copy, complete in two volumes with volume I dealing with 'The Feasts' and volume II with 'The Fasts'. With publisher and author's advertisements to the rear of volume II. Featuring a bookplate of a 'Robert Raikes' to the front pastedown of each volume
Condition
In a uniform cloth binding with blind stamped design to the boards and gilded page edges. Externally, slight bumping to extremities and head and tail of spines. Minor rubbing to boards. Prior owner's bookplate tipped to front pastedown. Internally firmly bound, strained only between pages 176 and 177, volume II. Pages very bright and clean throughout, with light scattered spots to first and last few pages.
