What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Leather Binding, Scarce

A scarce work, which details a collection of all the declarations and resolutions published by the different counties, cities, towns and parishes. ESTC No. T17529. To the rear of this work there is an appendix containing a view of the statutes, and the repeal with remarks etc. The Papists Act of 1778 was the first Act for Roman Catholic relief. Prior to this there were several Penal Laws in Britain and Ireland which varied between jurisdictions, but mostly excluded those known to be Roman Catholic from Public Life.

Condition

In a full calf binding. Rebacked with original boards preserved. Externally, generally smart with minor bumping to the extremities. Patches of rubbing to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned. Scattered spotting to pages, heavier to the first and last few pages.
