Complete in two volumes. This work consists of six books, split into two volumes: Introduction- The Place of Methodism in the Christian Church. Book I- The Foundations of Methodism Book II- British Wesley Methodism Book III- British Branches of Methodism Book IV- Methodism Beyond the Seas Book V- Methodist Foreign Missionary Enterprise Book VI- Methodism To-day. Collated complete, with thirty two plates to volume I and a coloured frontispiece plate, and thirty two plates to volume II and a coloured frontispiece plate. With a folding plate of 'Statistics of Methodism, 1908' facing page 532 volume II. With an errata slip bound to the contents page of each volume.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding with gilt stamped title to spines. Externally very smart, with slight bumping to extremities and head and tail of spines. Slight fading to spine and small sections of light rubbing to joints and front board volume I. Prior owner's ink inscription to front free-endpapers. Offsetting and spotting to half title page. Front hinge volume I slightly stained after half title page, but reasonably firm. Internally firmly bound. Pages slightly age toned to extremities but very bright and clean, with the odd spot to the occasional page. Tissue guard to frontispiece plate volume I removed, with evidence to gutter. Occasional pencil inscription bu prior owner to the odd page.
