Scarce. Featuring a beautifully engraved frontispiece of the author. Adorned with the original brass clasp to the foredge of the binding. From the private library of theologian and professor of philosophy, David A. Pailin.
Condition
In original calf binding with the original brass clasp. Externally, some rubbing, and marks to the boards. Light shelfwear to the spine and minor cracking to the joints. Clasp is sound and holding firm. Rear hinge is slightly strained, but, holding firm. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown and ink inscription to the front free endpaper. David Pailin's signature neatly inscribed in ink to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with the odd spot and handling mark. Very light marginal tide marks to the frontispiece.
