    Colour Plates, Illustrated, Limited Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Slipcase

    A limited edition work, of which this is numbered 488 of a limited but undefined run. Signed by the illustrator to the edition page. In the original slipcase, in a near fine condition. Illustrated with many full page and in-text colour illustrations. Collated, complete. An English translation of the Psalms, prepared by the Jewish Publication Society of America. This edition was issued on the occasion of the one-hundredth anniversary of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations. The Psalms is the first book of the Ketuvim, the third section of the Hebrew Bible, and a book of the Christian Old Testament. The Psalms is an anthology of one-hundred and fifty individual psalms. Illustrated by Ismar David, a Jewish-German graphic designer and illustrator. He was also known for his works 'Our Calligraphic Heritage', and 'The Hebrew Letter'.

    In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original slipcase. Externally, very smart with just few very light marks to the boards. Slipcase with just a couple of light marks. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
