This reflection on death is written by the Anglican priest, William Dodd. He was imprisoned and sentenced to death following his arrest for forgery. 'Thoughts in Prison' was written between his conviction and execution.
In a contemporary half calf binding, with marbled boards. Externally, generally smart with light rubbing to the paper covered boards. Minor rubbing to the joints. Prior owner's inscription to the verso of front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
